This is an amazing historic postcard in full color of the St. John Hotel in Charleston, South Carolina. Originally known as The Mills House Hotel, it opened in 1853. The hotel survived the destruction of much of the city in the Civil War and was later renamed the St. John Hotel at the turn of the twentieth century. When President Theodore Roosevelt visited the South Carolina Inter-State and West Indian Exposition in 1902, he stayed at the hotel. The postcard is in excellent condition for its age! There is some foxing on the back of the card but the image is pristine! Measures approximately 5.5" W x 3.25" T.
**Please note: Frame size is 4x6 and may be purchased separately.**
